CEC is offering a sports program beginning with the 2009-2010 school year. CEC is a member of the Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association (KCSAA) and will be fielding teams in the following: ► soccer (coed) ► basketball (boys) ► volleyball (girls).

All CEC students grades 9-12 who take at least two classes at CEC and maintain a "C" average or better in each class are eligible to try out for the athletic teams. There is a separate athletic participation fee required for each student who makes one of the athletic teams.

Soccer

Soccer try outs will be held on July 13 and 14. The first soccer practice will be July 16. We will be able to carry 20-22 players. The team is open to males and females grades 9-12.

Practice

The team will practice Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of each week unless a game is scheduled. The full game and practice schedule will be made available at the first practice. Practices will typically be at 6:30 PM and last for an hour. Practices will be at the Jewish Community Center.

Games

Home games will be at Champions Park off River Road. The games may be schedule on Mondays – Saturdays, both home and away. CEC will play teams in Louisville and surrounding areas including a game in Bardstown and a game in Lawrenceburg. There may possibly be one game in Lexington. The season will go from mid-July to approximately mid to late October.

KCSAA Tournament

The CEC Soccer season will conclude with our participation in the first-ever State Tournament of the Kentucky Christian School Athletic Association.
